The Last Cast of the FISH

Today started with a delay in operations. The FISH, dubbed "Goldmember" was knocked over on the deck and one of the fins detached. Eric, Ben and I changed out the FISH with its unnamed replacement. After the switch, we began our last day of trace metal sampling.

The FISH, named Goldmember, lies broken on the weather deck. It was damaged prior to the final cast of the fish. View full version pop-up.   Here I am, in front of the filtration rack, replacing the filters for the next round of samples. View full version pop-up.

We spent the day conducting a full profile of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I sampled water from the CTD at depths of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 meters. In addition I collected nutrients at each depth and water for other groups as well.

Brady, Mike and Stacey continued to sample for Pseudo-nitzschia. The samples revealed the presence of PN, though in small numbers.
