Steaming to the Belcher Islands, Filtering All the Way

Filtering for most for the day, there are so many samples to work through! Every now and then I took break and escaped from the lab (no windows) and took a cup of coffee up on deck and spent a few minutes staring at the sea.

This being Sunday, we had our pleasant dinner with more formal dress and wine with the meal. After dinner Andrea, Greg and I chatted for a while and there was such a close, cozy feeling that it felt as though I'd been working with them for years. We moved down to the lab and filtered samples for the rest of the evening (we heard the water samples calling to us and felt guilty). By 11pm Greg was tired and making silly little mistakes so Andrea and I sent him packing and filtered all the remaining samples. We finally finished at 1am and by then we were both barely upright.
