They're Lost At Sea!

Today Andrea and I organized several hundred samples that are stored in the fridge in the paleo lab. We also filtered samples for a few hours. Sometime after lunch we heard that Greg, Zou Zou, and Debbie were lost out in the zodiac, somewhere around the Winisk River and it was very foggy.

They had gone out after breakfast to collect samples in 3 or 4 locations with Michel (The First Mate) driving and the Amundsen had lost contact with them. For several hours we worked and tried not to worry about them getting back safely. I said many silent prayers that they would be found safe and sound.

Later that afternoon they did return to much rejoicing and relief. The radio connection had been choppy and the GPS on the zodiac had stopped working. Greg had a handheld GPS with him which came in handy.

We had a special Sunday dinner and listened to Cuban music for several hours afterward.
