The beginning of my adventure

G.O. Sars

I left West Warwick at 11:30 ish for a scheduled flight of 1:40 pm. At 3:00 pm we were still sitting on the runway waiting for a storm to clear Newark. We finally jetted off at 3:10 pm. We arrived in Newark with enough time to make the plane to Amsterdam, again more delays. We left close to two hours later than estimated but we made up time in the air. It seems as if flight times are always bloated. Since this was my first time flying over the "pond" the whole day was filled with trepidation and the delays added to it. Since it wasn't really night, but it was night in Europe and I would arrive on Saturday morning I did try to get some sleep on the plane. I did doze and the stewards were great, coming through the cabin often with water, plenty of food, and movies and music for entertainment. The flight was fine with little turbulence so I was fine! (The plane was full.)
