Some Free Time

The weekend arrived and I was a woman at loose ends. No one was working on the weekend. I hung around the B&B most of Saturday, working on notes and downloading pictures from my camera. I just bought the camera before I left home and this was the first time I had used it. So I had to figure out how to get the pictures off it.

Saturday evening Jill invited me to her home for a cook out and I had a very nice time with her family and friends.

On Sunday, I decided to be adventurous- at least for me. I left early to catch the 8:30 fast ferry from Quonset Point to Martha's Vineyard. I tried to make an appointment to return at 3:30, but that trip was already full, so I arranged a return at 7:30PM.

The trip was very choppy and rough, and several unfortunates got sick on the way over. Surprisingly, I wasn't one of them. It was about 10:00 when I reached Oak Bluff. I took a walking tour, checked out some shops, and had lunch. Then I bought a bus ticket and set out to explore the rest of the island. I found myself actually glad that I hadn't been able to book an earlier return, because if I had, I wouldn't have seen anything except Oak Bluff. Since I had to occupy myself, I visited the rest of the Island and had a great time. I got back to Wickford around 9:30PM, early enough to get a good night's sleep before going back to the University in the morning.
