Research Experience: Biogeochemical Study of the Bering Sea (USCGC HEALY)
Research Objectives: To determine if climate-driven inter-annual variability in sea ice extent altered the magnitude of gross and net primary production, its autotrophic community structure, and subsequently, carbon export, and degree of pelagic-benthic coupling in the eastern Bering Sea.
Research funded by: National Science Foundation
Host Researcher: Roger P. Kelly (University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, Narragansett, RI)
Dates: July 2-31, 2008
